Good Morning everyone!
Today, I’m going to sharing a new piece of technology geared towards girls, with a major goal in mind.
The all-female start-up Preemadonna has created the “Nailbot,” which allows you to apply nail art through your smartphone.
The aim of this invention is not only to widen girls’ avenues of creative expression, but also to get them interested in STEM based on the prospect that technology can be created that is geared towards their interests.
While the Nailbot is a bit pricey for many girls at $199 a piece, this is not the only avenue that Preemadonna founder, Pree Walia, is utilizing to get girls interested in STEM. Walia has also created an ambassador program aimed at getting girls getting interested in all forms of computer programming, and is having Preemadonna collaborating with organizations such as the Girls Scouts of New Mexico and Maker Girl to increase girls’ interest in STEM.
