Women’s Foundation of Florida to Launch ‘Celebrate SHEroes’ Campaign in March
During Women’s History Month, Initiative Aims to Celebrate the Many Women Regarded as Heroes
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA (February 27, 2023) – The Women’s Foundation of Florida will celebrate Women’s History Month in March. The annual observance highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. In addition, the Foundation will also observe International Women’s Day on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. In honor of Women’s History Month, the Women’s Foundation of Florida is kicking off the ‘Celebrate SHEroes’ campaign, encouraging everyone to celebrate a woman they regard as a hero – or SHEro!
Know a SHEro to celebrate? Honor her with a post recognizing her as a SHEro on social media and a brief message ‘why,’ OR make a gift in her honor to the Women’s Foundation of Florida, a statewide nonprofit empowering women and girls to be leaders. To donate, click here now! You will be directed to the Foundation’s campaign website, empowered by EveryAction. If celebrating on social media, be sure to use the hashtags #CelebrateSHEroes and #WFFSHEro, and don’t forget to tag your SHEro and the Foundation.
Gifts in honor of a SHEro will help secure a vibrant future for the Women’s Foundation of Florida. Established in 2007, the Women’s Foundation invests in women’s ideas and encourages their leadership to positively affect the economic, political, and social status of women and girls across Florida. The Foundation offers programming dedicated to women’s leadership development, professional development, girls in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), microgrants, and more.
“Our mission to empower women and girls to be leaders so they can change the world is essential,” said Takeata King Pang, Women’s Foundation of Florida Executive Director. “During Women’s History Month, we encourage everyone to honor the many women changemakers among us and to invest in the next generation of women leaders through the Celebrate SHEroes campaign.”
Women’s History Month began in 1978 as Women’s History Day in Sonoma County, California. The commemoration was recognized in the U.S. as a national week in 1980 and month in 1987, before spreading internationally.
