By Women, For Women is a key theme here at the Women’s Foundation. Our volunteers build their leadership skills by organizing programs BY and FOR women and girls across Florida.
Current programs in Palm Beach County:
Giving Circle: Join a fun group of women who have committed a minimum of $250 per grant cycle, in order to leverage their collective investment by making local micro-grants to empower women and girls in Palm Beach County. By Women, For Women Giving Circle members are directly involved in the grant-making process, being a catalyst for positive change while connecting, collaborating and celebrating with other women leaders.
Professional Development Series: Our PowHERful series of events bring women together for fun, educational activities that foster networking and professional advancement. This series aims to gather local Palm Beach County women who want to refine the skills they need to succeed but in the form of an awesome get-together.
Our By Women, For Women Professional Development Committee is organized by volunteers and co-chaired by Erin St. Onge-Carpenter and Kate Volman.
Book Club: Like that name suggests, the Women’s Foundation of Florida book club focuses on books that were written By Women, For Women. Previous books include The Richest Woman in America: the story of Hetty Green in the Gilded Age by Janet Wallach, My Beloved World by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd, Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead by Sherly Sandberg, In the Land of Invisible Women, A Female Doctor’s Journey in the Saudi Kingdom by Qanta A. Ahmed, MD and Playing Big by Tara Mohr and many others.
